During the month of March, Curves of Dayton, 140 Douglas St. No. 4, will participate in the 11th Annual Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks. Curves of Dayton will waive its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between Monday, March 9 through Saturday, March 28. AARP will offer free tax preparation for seniors. Taxpayers wanting their taxes prepared and electronically filed for free do not have to be AARP members or any specific minimum age. Now through April 15 representatives will be at the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road, 12:30-3:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday and Lyon County Library, 20 Nevin Way, Yerington, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday. The Eagles and Agriculture gathering will be Friday, Feb. 27-Sunday, March 1. The event combines the year's best opportunity to view and photograph bald eagles and other birds of prey with options that include falconing field demonstrations and a two day wildlife photography workshop, as well as a rare chance to access some of the Carson Valley's working ranches and historic barns.
