As some of you may know, our dear mom passed away Dec. 26, 2008 after battling a long illness with lung cancer. She was a warrior in every sense of the word and fought a long hard battle until the very end. Her illness took a very bad turn last week and our family was lucky enough to be by her side during her final moments. She died a peaceful death in her home with her closest family members by her side.

Her moral character in life will never be forgotten. She was very unselfish. Even though she faced large medical bills during her treatments, a lot of which insurance did not cover, she still managed to donate to local charities with the few dollars she had. We discovered these donations in her check register after she passed. She would never put herself before anyone else. If she didn't agree with someone, she respected their opinion and often times gave them the benefit of doubt. Her respect for mother earth and nature was an important part of who she was, what she stood for and what she believed in. She would never judge someone based on their color, appearance, handicap or financial status. She was an amazing poem writer - and wrote many poems during her final months and managed to finish most of them five days before passing. There is so much more...

It's hard to believe she is no longer a part of our life. The lessons she taught, ideals she stood for and person she was will never be forgotten. Her legacy will always be.

She is survived by her son Mark; daughter Maureen; grandson Orrin; brother Bill and 93-year-old mother Kathryn.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday Jan. 11, at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street, Carson City.

RIP Mom.

I am Forever and Always with You

I Am Forever and

Always with You,

With Wings of Freedom,

I greet the Morning Hue.

I Am the Blessing in

Angels and Love

I Am New Life Flowing

In, Round, Above.

I Am the Sunlight, the Earth,

And the Sky,

I Am the Eagle Soaring

Ever so High.

I Am the Mountain,

The Ocean, the Stream,

I Am the Quiver in

Morning's Bright Gleam.

I Am the Lake, it's

Deep Azure Blue,

I am the Breeze that

Brings Ripples too.

I Am the Bright Stars that

Shine every Night,

I See You clearly

Never out of My Sight.

I Am Forever, and

Always with You,

With Wings of Freedom,

I Serenade the Evening Blue
