Two jailed in meth sales

A Dayton man and a Carson City teen remained jailed Friday on charges of drug trafficking.

Michael Mays, 54, is being held in the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of felony trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance for sale and unlawful use of a controlled substance. His bail is set at $107,500.

Luis Fuentes, 19, of Carson City, is being held on felony trafficking of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Bail was set at $105,000.

According to Lyon County Sheriff's Sgt. Brad Pope, deputies were watching on New Year's Eve as May and Fuentes sold methamphetamine outside the Terrible's Casino in Dayton.

Officers approached May outside the casino and allegedly recovered 12.3 grams of meth in his pocket.

Fuentes was approached in his vehicle and officers allegedly recovered 15.1 grams of meth in a pouch in the back seat. Also confiscated was $519.

Pope said May had been under investigation for about a month prior to his arrest.
