Ex-Elko police captain faces sex charges

ELKO " A former Elko police captain has been bound over for trial on charges of child pornography and incest.

Justice of the Peace Al Kacin, after a preliminary hearing Wednesday, determined there is enough evidence for Aaron Hughes to be tried in district court.

Hughes is charged with use of a child in the production of pornography and incest.

The charges were filed last month after police searched his home and seized a computer allegedly containing videos of him engaging in sex with an underage, blood relative.

He was arrested Dec. 18 immediately after appearing in court on unrelated charges of grand larceny involving the theft of tools and an all-terrain vehicle from a closed mining operation.
