FALLON" One of two men accused of beating a 63-year-old man with a sledge hammer during a home robbery in Fallon has been ordered to stand trial.

Justice of the Peace Mike Richards said there is enough evidence for Kenneth McClelland to face the charges in district court.

Co-defendant Erick Calderon waived the 15-day rule for his preliminary hearing and the case against him is pending.

McClelland, 47, and Calderon, 32, are charged with multiple felonies for the December beating, including battery with intent to kill and causing substantial bodily harm with use of a deadly weapon.

During a preliminary hearing on Friday, Calderon testified McClelland struck the man on the forehead with a sledge hammer they had found on the property and used to break into the home.
