The Lyon County Board of Commissioners delayed a decision on building a dog park in Dayton.

Supporters say pet owners don't have a safe place to freely play with their dogs.

At their meeting Thursday in Yerington, commissioners said they have the land available but want to know how much the park would cost and how it would be funded.

Supporters have suggested using two acres donated to the county on the Santa Maria Ranch.
