Carson City investigators are searching for suspects in the abduction and rape of a 15-year-old girl last week.
Sheriff's Detective Craig Lowe said Thursday that the girl was walking on Koontz Lane about 6 p.m. Jan. 5 when someone grabbed her from behind, held a chemical-soaked cloth over her face and shoved her into a vehicle.
While one man kept her head covered, another man drove the vehicle, Lowe said.
The men took the girl into a building where she was tied up and assaulted repeatedly by one of the men.
At one point the man said, "I told you I would come for you," said Lowe.
He said it appears the rapist knew the girl.
During the time the girl was missing, her family and boyfriend each received several phone calls where no one spoke, said Lowe. During one call the victim's sister could hear a woman screaming in the background.
Lowe said the girl was dropped off about 6 p.m. the next day at Carriage Square Park near West Winnie Lane.
A forensic examination and extensive interview with the girl and her family indicate she was assaulted.
"I don't doubt her credibility," Lowe said.
Anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area of Eagle Station and Koontz Lane about 6 p.m. Jan. 5 or on West Winnie Lane around 6 p.m. Jan. 6 is asked to call Lowe at 887-2020, ext. 41403.
