A 23-year-old man was arrested in a shooting Friday that missed two men and hit a passing car, police say. No one was hurt.

Eduardo Segura shot at the men with a rifle on Highway 50 East after chasing them with two other members of his gang around 11 a.m. Friday, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Department.

Detective Daniel Gonzales said the two groups were in different gangs and had a fight earlier that day on Airport Road. The department's gang unit is looking into the reason for the fight, he said.

One of Segura's shots broke a woman's car window at the corner of Highway 50 East and Lompa Lane, according to police records.

Sheriff Kenny Furlong said he was happy no one was hurt, but it was "extremely close."

"God, we're getting lucky in this town," he said.
