A charity roast of former Mayor Marv Teixeira raised $20,000 that will help finish the new center for the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada.

The money the Carson City Rotary Club raised at the Jan. 9 roast will be matched by the Lesch family for a total of $40,000.

The Lesch family will match up to $100,000 in donations through Feb. 15 to help finish the new club at the corner of Russell Way and Northridge Drive.

The fundraising campaign has raised about $92,750 since October.

The new center is scheduled to open in June.
