Long time Nevada resident and friend to many, Roberta D. Meyer, passed away, Jan. 20, 2009 in her Carson City home.
Roberta was born Oct. 25, 1931 in Wheatland, Wyo. She moved to Carson City in 1946 where she met and married her wonderful husband Nelson Meyer, March 13, 1959. Roberta and Nels were blessed with two sons, a wonderful marriage and a happy life. They loved to travel, go camping, garden and enjoy the company of friends and family.
Devoted wife and mother, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Nels and survived by her sister Maryanna Stever of Pioche and her two loving sons, Keith Meyer of Las Vegas, and Steven Meyer of Sparks.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday in the chapel at Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 3000 N. Lompa Lane in Carson City. There will be a reception for family and friends following the service in the Nevada Room of the Carson City Senior Center located at 911 Beverly Lane.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a tax-deductible donation be made in Roberta's name to Nevada Opera Association at P.O. Box 3256, Reno, NV 89505.
Roberta touched many lives with her kind and gentle nature and although she is no longer here with us, in this physical world, she will always be with us in our hearts.
