A man in jail awaiting deportation was charged Wednesday with the attempted robbery of a market in April.

Carson City Sheriff's Detective Daniel Gonzales said that a Secret Witness tip on Tuesday named Santiago Robles Llamas, 21, as one of two men captured on video April 13 at the El Torito bakery and butcher shop on Winnie Lane.

Llamas was scheduled to board a bus Wednesday to be returned to Mexico, but a warrant last night stopped him from leaving the country, said Gonzales.

He'd received a suspended sentence in the Dec. 28 shooting in which he and two other men allegedly fired rounds into the air after a dispute at JB's Latin Nightclub.

Gonzales said that the Secret Witness tipster recognized Llamas in the surveillance footage from the robbery, and decided to come forward after his arrest in the shooting.

"We compared Llamas' mug to the video surveillance and it was a match," said Gonzales.

Llamas was additionally booked on the robbery charge.
