Robert and Phyllis Bateman of Carson City recently announced the engagement of their daughter, Daphne Laurel Bateman, to Joseph Daniel Monson, son of Clark and Jean Monson, of Nampa, Idaho.
The couple are planning an August wedding in Carson City.
The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Douglas High School. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2007 with a bachelor of science in biochemistry and received her nursing degree in 2008 from Orvis at UNR. She currently works as a registered nurse at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, Calif.
The groom-to-be graduated from Sparks High School in 2001. He graduated in 2005 from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor of science degree in applied economics. He received a master of science in agriculture and applied economics from Virginia Tech in 2008. He is currently employed as an agricultural economist for the California State Department of Food and Agriculture.
