Michael Hohl breaking ground for new dealership

Michael Hohl Honda Subaru will host a ground-breaking ceremony 10 a.m. Tuesday to celebrate the start of construction on their new dealership facility at 2800 S. Carson St.

The 7.5-acre site will host a 20,000-square-foot Subaru facility and a 25,000-square-foot Honda building.


Carson Tahoe named to best employer list

Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare was named one of the top 12 companies to work for in Nevada in the July issue of Nevada Business Magazine.

They were given kudos for their efforts to foster communications with their employees, and offering extra benefits such as gym memberships and ski passes.


Bella Salon schedules grand opening

Bella Salon and Spa will have a grand opening for their new location at 1910 College Parkway at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. The event will feature refreshments and giveaways for attendees.

Lake Tahoe mixer planned

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will host a special mixer at the Harbor House, 2005 Highway 28, in Incline Village from 5-7 p.m. July 15.

The chamber will have a 60-passenger bus to transport people to and from the event. Cost is $10. RSVPs required. Call 882-1565 for more information.


Consignment shop changes names, owners

It's a Girl Thang consignment shop is now open in the Frontier Plaza, 1921 N. Carson St.

Owner Nanci Kitts took over the former Encore consignment business. The store features new and used clothing and accessories.

BAWN awards Women in Business scholarships

The Builders Association of Western Nevada Women's Council has awarded the Women In Business scholarships for 2008/2009 to Rebecca Brooks of Foothill Electric and Debby Peot of Canyon Electric Company Inc.

Funds for the Women in Business Scholarship are raised at BAWN events throughout the year, such as the Nevada Day Pancake Breakfast at Red's Old 395 Grille. The Women's Council awards two $500 scholarships to BAWN members or employees of members per year.
