LAS VEGAS - The Reno Aces scored two in the third and one in the fifth, and made that stand up for a 3-1 win over the Las Vegas 51s in a PCL game Friday night at Cashman Field.
Randy Ruiz gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead in the first with a run-scoring single off Billy Buckner.
Hot-hitting Trent Oeltjen gave the Aces a 2-1 lead with a one-out, two-run single in the third inning.
Reno made it 3-1 in the fifth when Rusty Ryal drove home Chris Roberson, who had reached on a single and stole second base.
Buckner and three relievers held the 51s to no runs and three hits in the last eight innings.
Bobby Korecky pitched the ninth to pick up his 13th save of the season.
Roberson and John Hester led the Aces' offense with two hits apiece.
