Bella Salon schedules grand opening

Bella Salon and Spa will have a grand opening for their new location at 1910 College Parkway at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. The event will feature refreshments and giveaways for attendees.

Carson chamber plans Lake Tahoe mixer

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will host a special mixer at the Harbor House, 2005 Highway 28, in Incline Village from 5-7 p.m. July 15.

The chamber will have a 60-passenger bus to transport people to and from the event. Cost is $10. RSVPs required. Call 882-1565 for more information.


Parker is new assistant administrator for The Lodge assisted living

Susie Parker of Dayton has joined The Lodge assisted living facility as an assistant administrator. Parker previously worked for the Carson Nugget and in medical billing and small business management.


Social networking breakfast planned

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce monthly breakfast meeting in August will feature a program about how social networking can help local businesses.

The pancake breakfast and seminar takes place at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at the Elks Club, 515 N. Nevada St. Kirk Caraway will discuss how to connect with customers using tools like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Cost is $10, and advance reservations are required. Call 882-1565 for details.


Baker's Dozen Donuts to open in Dayton

The family-owned Baker's Dozen Donuts will open on or around Aug. 14, the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week.

The shop will be located at 140 Douglas Street, #C, in Dayton.

Owners Rico James and Daniel Norten have combined food service experience of more than 30 years including working in a number of doughnut shops and bakeries.


NBC breakfast meeting

Nevada Business Connections' monthly breakfast meeting will be at 8 a.m. Thursday at Gold Dust West. Guest speakers will be John W. Griffin and Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell. They will discuss "Onerous Taxes Passed During the Legislative Session."

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $20. RSVP to 882-8306.
