Supervisors to discuss bonds for ambulances, water system work

The Carson City Board of Supervisors meets at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Items up for discussion and possible action will be:

• Introduction on first reading of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $2.9 million in bonds to finance the cost of ambulances, sewer improvements and storm drainage improvements for the city.

• Introduction on first reading of a 2009 water bond ordinance authorizing a property tax to pay for improvements to the water system by acquiring, constructing, improving and equipping water system facilities.

• An Open Space Advisory Committee recommendation to prepare a report on the rehabilitation treatments five years after the Waterfall Fire.

• Placement of signs at the Wilson Open Space on two different parcels at the top of Ash Canyon Road.

• Action to adopt a resolution authorizing the expenditure of $120,000 from the Quality of Life Maintenance Fund to the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada for maintenance of their facility.

• Presentation of a report on the study of regional water system involving Carson City, Douglas County, the Town of Minden and the Indian Hills General Improvement District.

• Adoption of a development agreement between Carson City and Roventini LLC for a planned unit development known as Clearview Ridge.

• Setting the annual number of residential permits available for the following calendar year.

At 1:30 p.m., the board will consider:

• Appointing two members to the Planning Commission from four candidates.

• Adopting the Carson City Business Plan, which includes nine quality of life perspectives, two operational perspectives, 41 objectives and a set of performance measures.
