FALLON (Nevada Appeal News Service) - A former Fallon high school softball coach charged with violating terms of her probation for consuming alcohol will have an attorney appointed to represent her on those charges.
Tami Peel told District Court Judge David Huff on Tuesday she could not afford an attorney.
Huff said he would appoint Peel a public defender, but she will have to reimburse the courts unless she proves she cannot afford a lawyer.
Peel pleaded guilty to child endangerment in District Court and five counts of delinquency of a minor in Justice Court for serving teens alcohol at a party in January 2008. She was given a suspended jail sentence and placed on probation with one stipulation that she not use alcohol.
According to court records, Peel was under the influence when turned herself in to the county jail to serve her 45-day Justice Court sentence.
