Former Nevada State Archivist Guy Rocha is featured in the Carson Valley Myth-Busting presentation, 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park.

Rocha will set the record straight about 19th and 20th century Carson Valley historical myths about Dr. Eliza Cook being Nevada's first female physician, the inspiration for the Ferris Wheel, and actress Mary Pickford's Nevada connections.

The park provides some shade and chairs for the free, hour-long presentation. You're welcome to bring your own lawn chairs.

The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park is at 1450 Highway 88, Minden. For information contact Park Interpreter Mark Jensen at dangbergranch@parks.nv.gov or 783-9417.
