RENO (AP) - Washoe County health officials say 21 new cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the past week, bringing the county's total to 177.
Since the first case was reported in late April, six people have been hospitalized.
Of the new cases confirmed, 10 patients are between the ages of 5 and 24; six are 25 to 64 years old, and five are under the age of 5.
Three swine flu related deaths have occurred in Nevada, all in southern Nevada.
In Carson City there are 32 confirmed cases of swine flu, said Stacey Belt, public health emergency planner with the Carson City Health Department.
Everyone is recovering, she said.
On Oct. 10, the Health Department is planning a free city-wide flu clinic with a walk-in location and a drive-through location.
A site for the event has yet to be selected.
