Dutch Bros. to donate proceeds

Dutch Bros. Coffee, 1449 S. Carson St., will donate $1 from every drink sold from 5:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday to Relay For Life of Carson City.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser. In Carson City, it will be held Saturday at Centennial Park. For more information go to www.carsoncityrelay.org.

Unemployment to top 10 percent

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Federal Reserve expects the economy this year will sink at a slower pace than it previously thought.

However, it still predicted that unemployment will top 10 percent and remain high for the next few years, according to a new forecast released Wednesday.

The Fed now predicts the economy will shrink between 1 and 1.5 percent this year, an improvement from its old forecast issued in May. At that time, the Fed projected the economy would contract between 1.3 and 2 percent.

CIT will not get second bailout

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration denied emergency aid to CIT Group Inc., a struggling commercial lender on the brink of bankruptcy.

The company said its management and directors were "evaluating alternatives."
