(Nevada Appeal Staff) - One person was injured Thursday in a rush hour accident on Highway 50 East in Mound House.

Trooper Tom Urso said Kirby Whitley, 21, driving a PT Cruiser, failed to yield from the stop sign on Highland Drive and pulled out in front of an eastbound Kia Spectra driven by Marjeana Bloom, 25, of Dayton at 4:26 p.m.

Bloom was taken from the scene by ambulance and sustained a possible broken arm and claimed neck injuries, said Urso.

Whitley and a 2-year-old boy in the vehicle were uninjured.

The accident backed up lanes both eastbound and westbound for about an hour.

Whitley was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign, said Urso.
