LAS VEGAS (AP) - Sen. John Ensign's popularity has fallen since he revealed an extra-martial affair with a former staffer.
A poll commissioned by the Las Vegas Review-Journal says the number of voters with a favorable opinion of Ensign was 31 percent, down 22 points since Ensign acknowledged the affair on June 16.
The poll of 400 Nevadans who vote in state elections was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday for the Review-Journal by Washington, D.C.-based Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. It carries a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
Most support the Nevada Republican's decision to stay in office, but they are split on whether he should seek re-election in three years.
