130 YEARS AGO

Imposters: A couple of imposters, a man and a woman, appeared to be cripples and made their living begging. When they thought that they would not be seen, they threw their crutches down and were as lively as crickets. The exposition of their game induced them to leave Virginia, and we have the delectable twain with us. They walked all the way from Virginia to the Warm Springs road, swinging their canes, but once in sight of Carson, used their crutches as if they were fearfully crippled.

100 YEARS AGO

Miss Hazel Hofer and Leroy T. Booth were married in Reno. The groom is employed in the train dispatcher's office of the V&T and Miss Hofer was employed as a clerk in the post office.

70 YEARS AGO

Sim Scott who is putting up the hay on the "IL" ranch came to town and tells a rattlesnake story and brought in the rattle to back it up. The hay meadows are "lousy" with poisonous reptiles, so many that men sleep on bunks raised off the ground so when they wake up the morning they haven't a nice companion coiled up with them.

50 YEARS AGO

Births at Carson-Tahoe Hospital: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peters are parents of a girl; Mr. and Mrs. James Calhoun of Sparks are parents of a boy.

20 YEARS AGO
