James "Spike" Mason, 63, of Carson City, died July 29, 2009, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Boulder City, Nev., to Rand and Louise (Olson) Mason. He is survived by his wife Irene Mason, one stepson, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
