Here's a quick check-off list if you are planning to attend any of the local graduations: Carson Middle School: June 5 at noon - 8th Grade Promotion - CMS Gym;

- Eagle Valley Middle School: June 5 at 1 p.m. 8th Grade Promotion & Awards;

- Carson High School Graduation: June 6 at 10 a.m., CHS Football Field;

- Pioneer High School: Congratulations to all the Pioneer High School Graduates that received their diplomas June 1.

Pancake Breakfast kicks off summer reading program

The Carson City Library youth department will present Laurie Story, the "Mother Goose Rapper" and the youth program is pumping middle-school-age interests with a Super Smash Brothers gaming tournament. Be the Nintendo King. And those are only a few of the new programs. Go on line and check out the Web site.

Kicking off the summer youth and teen reading programs will be the annual Carson City Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, at 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13.

WHAT: Carson City Library's Summer Reading Program. Free show for families, preschoolers and school age kids, with a separate e-book workshop following at 1p.m.

WHAT: Gaming tournament

WHEN: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27

COST: These summer reading programs are free program and open to all youth and teens

COST: Breakfast tickets are free to ages 12 and under: $3 Adult: $6 and Family: $15, plus you will receive a voucher to waive any library fines for the entire family!

Come early and stay late starting Friday evening. Free outdoor concerts are slated the first 9 shows of the 16-week season, which begins with some great southern rock by Savannah Blue on Third Street.

June 27 the Downtown Farmers Market is back with a family pop-up park and Bike the Blue Line kiosk. Activities are from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and cover blocks along Curry Street as well as up King Street to the campus of the Brewery Arts Center.

Events take place weekly through Oct. 4. Go online check it out.

CHEERLEADERS SIGN UPS

Get your children ready for a fun 2009 Season.

WHAT: Pop Warner Football and Cheerleader sign ups.

WHERE: Round Table Pizza - Retail Drive

WHEN: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight

COST: Football is $100 and includes complete practice and game gear (except cleats). Girdles with sew-in pads are available for $15. Jersey and socks to keep. Cheerleader sign-ups are $60; plus a fundraiser for the actual cost of uniform.
