LAS VEGAS (AP) " A Nevada judge told the state attorney general she wants to know within a week who'll prosecute the lieutenant governor on allegations of misappropriation of state funds.
Clark County District Court Judge Elissa Cadish told prosecutor Conrad Hafen she wants to know June 10 who'll handle the case against Brian Krolicki and his chief of staff, Kathryn Besser.
Cadish ruled May 19 the attorney general's office had a conflict of interest and couldn't handle the case.
State Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto is appealing that ruling to the Nevada Supreme Court.
Lawyers for Krolicki and Besser call the delay in the case unfair. The two officials have pleaded not guilty to charges they mishandled millions of dollars in a state-run college savings program.
