Women In Business scholarships
The Builders Association of Western Nevada Women's Council is offering two scholarships of $500 each for the 2009-2010 school year. Each scholarship will be distributed in increments of $250 per semester.
The scholarships will be awarded to women who are currently working for a company that is a member of BAWN and who are interested in advancing their career in building and building-support industries by furthering their education. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient at the conclusion of the semester, upon submittal of final grades. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and proof of employment with a BAWN member is required.

Carson City chamber welcomes new members
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce has five new members: Bella Salon & Spa, Carson City Downtown Business Association, ESI Security Services, F.A.A.D. Janitorial and Silpada Designs Representative.
First anniversary ribbon cutting at Soar NV
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating Soaring NV's first year in business with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 12 at 5:30 p.m. The event features food, drinks and giveaways including glider rides, mugs and T-shirts. Soaring NV is located at 1140-B Airport Road in Minden.
Contract workshop hosted by Sen. John Ensign
U.S. Sen. John Ensign is presenting a workshop to help small businesses learn how to contract with the government on June 16 at 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Joe Crowley Student Union at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Participants will have the opportunity to talk individually with agencies and resource partners to receive additional information.

Carson City chamber hosting annual meeting
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce is planning its annual meeting on June 15 at 6 p.m. at the Carson Nugget. The event promises a special menu, with entertainment by Garfin Gathering.
