A Carson City man awaiting trial on charges that he possessed dozens of images of child porn was arrested Sunday night as he exited a movie theater in violation of his bail conditions.
Glenn Ware, 60, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 10:14 p.m.
He was initially arrested April 24 on a warrant charging him with 32 counts of possession of child pornography. A search of his computers revealed dozens, "if not hundreds" of images of children as young as 12 months old being sexually violated, said Detective Craig Lowe.
According to Rory Planeta, chief of the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing, Ware posted $100,000 bail April 28 and was on house arrest. He was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device for the first 40 days.
On Sunday, an Alternative Sentencing officer was attempting to locate Ware to remove the GPS device, when it was discovered that Ware was at a movie theater in violation of a court order that he be on house arrest and stay away from areas frequented by children, said Planeta.
Ware was arrested as he exited the building about 9:15 p.m.
During a hearing Monday morning, Justice of the Peace Robey Willis reinstated Ware's house arrest and GPS monitoring.
A preliminary hearing is set for July 6.
