Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections for the week of June 2 (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):
• Safeway No. 2247, 2035 N. Carson Street, meat department, scored 100 points.
• Arco AM PM, 2707 Highway 50 E, convenience store, scored 98 points. Food from approved source is not labeled as required. This is the second repeat violation. Bags of ice (a food) which are packed on these premises are without proper labels. Walls, ceilings, doors, windows, etc., are not maintained in good repair.
• Murphy Bernardini, 1545 E. Fifth Street, food facility fee exempt. Scored 100 points.
• Doppelgangers Bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Main Bar, scored 98 points. Speed gun holders are dirty. Bar mats holding clean glassware need cleaning underneath.
• Doppelgangers bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Brewery, scored 100 points.
• Doppelgangers bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson Street, restaurant, Pizzeria, scored 100 points.
• Doppelgangers bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson Street, restaurant, main kitchen, scored 93 points. Employees do not wash hands thoroughly or as often as necessary to remove contamination. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. The ice machine has thick deposits of slime inside the upper and lower halves of the machine. The ice scoop holder is also dirty.
• Doppelgangers bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Patio Bar, scored 93. There is no sanitizer residual in the sanitizer basin of the 3-compartment sink. Ice that is intended for human consumption is used for cooling stored food. Ice scoop is not stored properly. (Found ice scoop handle laying on the ice.)

• Jack in the Box No. 7320, 3225 Retail Drive, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• 5 Buck Pizza, 240 E. Winnie Lane, take-out, scored 100 points.
• Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Drive No. 110-115, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Del Taco, 822 E. College Parkway, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, 801 S. Carson Street, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Mom & Pop's Diner, 224 S. Carson Street, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Kentucky Fried Chicken, 2523 N. Carson Street, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Sports Bar, scored 100 points.
• Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Cabaret Bar, scored 100 points.
• Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson Street, bar/lounge, Duke's Steak House Bar, scored 100 points.
• Madeline's Cookies, 3680 Research Way No. 5, retail food producer, scored 99 points. Lights are not properly shielded or protected.
• MJ's Sports Bar, 3679 S. Carson Street, bar/lounge, scored 94 points. The ice bin drain line was partially clogged with slim build up. Food service equipment equipped with drains, such as undercounter beer refrigerators had drain hoses extending into the floor sink. Food contact surfaces of the speed gun holster were not clean.
• Straw Hat Pizza, 135 Clearview Drive, scored 94 points. Chlorine residual was less than 50 ppm on dishware after mechanical final rinse. Meats including cooked chicken were found in the preparation table refrigerator at 44F and not at 40F or less.
• Thai Spice Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph Street, restaurant, scored 90 points. The sushi bar under counter refrigerator was iced up and not keeping food at 40F or less. An example is the yellow tail fish which was at 47F. Various foods (salt and spices) were found stored in containers which are inadequately labeled or unlabeled. The bottom edge of the deflector shield in the ice machine was found to contain a build up of slime. This was removed on the spot. An ice scoop handle was found in the ice. The walk-in refrigerator did not have good separation of raw meats from vegetables. Food contact surfaces of the speed gun holster at the sushi bar contained debris.
• Tommy's Neighborhood Bar, 260 W. Winnie Lane, bar/lounge, scored 98 points. Milk found in the under counter refrigerator was at 44F and not at 40F or lower.
• Michoacan Restaurant, 557 S. Saliman Road, scored 97 points. Food was found stored in containers which are unlabeled. Specifically flour and various spices. Ice that is intended for human consumption was being used for cooling soda cans.
• El Pollo Loco, 1823 E. Highway 50, restaurant, scored 100 points.
• Slotworld, 3879 E. Highway 50, restaurant, Caravan Cafe, scored 96 points. Reach-in to the left of the grill has an ambient temperature of 50F. The inside of the main ice machine need cleaning.
