PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Department of Transportation is adding two lanes to U.S. 93, from Hoover Dam to milepost 17 in a project that will create a four-lane divided highway connecting the Arizona approach of the Hoover Dam Bypass.
Beginning Wednesday, the security checkpoint on U.S. 93 approaching Hoover Dam will be relocated north to milepost 1.8.
The checkpoint currently located at milepost 8.9 will be closed once the relocation is complete.
ADOT warns that motorists may experience minor delays during the relocation process.
Dozer and storm drain work continues from milepost 17 to milepost 10.
ADOT urges motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit signs, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
