Carson Little League announces all-star squads

The Carson City Little League announced its all-star rosters for the upcoming postseason tournaments.

Carson is fielding just one all-star team in each division this year because of shrinking numbers. The league is fielding five 12-man teams.

Postseason plays begins June 24 with the Renegade and Hooligan tournaments at the Washoe Little League complex. Carson is hosting the 9-10 tourney starting July 6, while the 10-11 and 11-12 all-star events begin a few days later in Gardnerville.

9-10 all-stars

Coaches: Mike Fettic and John Simms. Roster: Tez Allen, Abel Carter, Jayden DeJoseph, Dawson Fettic, Ryan Foster, Tommy Gall, Jace Keema, Kyle Krebs, Jesse Lopez, Bebop Martinez, Bryce Moyle, Zack Simms.

10-11 all-stars

Coaches: Chris Holton, Mike Leahy. Roster: Asa Carter, Damon Kitson, Kyle Kunz, Kristain Hollaway, John Holton, Conner Leahy, Logan Menzel, Harry Meyer, Ryan Pope, Connor Pradere, PJ White, Chea Zevnick.

11-12 all-stars

Dean's Machine leads the way

Dean's Machine leads Comstock Division 63 with 232 points through June 14 competition in the American Pool Players Association.

Twisted Stix is second at 210 and Twisted Stix Too is third at 207.

Gary Franks (Troublemakers) leads the 4-5 tier with 12 points. Following him are Terrance Bradley (Dean's Machine), William Kenson (Trouble Makers) and Donald Tucker (The Mutts), all with seven points.

Todd Robertson (Twisted Stix Too) leads the 6-9 tier with seven points followed by Don Allred (Rat Pack) with six points and Kenneth Gabbard (The Mutts) with four points.

Kim Dandos (Twisted Stix) leads the 1-3 tier with 12 points, while Kenneth Collins (The Mutts) is next with 11. Colleen Janes (Troublemakers) is third with nine.

In Mosconi Division 231, Jerry's Kids leads the team standings with 15 points. Cues Yer Daddy and Twisted Stix are tied for second with 14. Big Dogs, Rat Pack and Sliders are tied for fourth with 11 points.

Robertson (Twisted Stix) leads the 4-5 tier with 11 points. Albert Jacobsen (Jerry's Kids) and Amber Miles (Tommyguns) are tied second with 10 points. Roger Alther (Rat Pack) is next with eight and James Ostin (Cues Yer Daddy) has seven points.

David Giovaccchini (Jerry's Kids) leads the 6-7 tier with 16 points. Kenneth Hansen (Rat Pack) and Allred (Rat Pack) are tied for second with 10. Robert Bridges (Anarchy Nation) leads the 2-3 tier with 12 points. Robert Bogue (Crowbar) is next with 10.

Boykin, Ramage

win EV golf

Kim Boykin shot 75 to win low gross honors and Sherry Ramage shot 64 to win low net honors in the first flight of the Eagle Valley Women's Golf Club Aces High event.

Sandra Talmant shot 81 for low gross honors in the second flight, while Joyce Guy's 64 was good enough for low net honors.

Gerri Murphy shot 107 to win low gross in the third flight, while Shirley Shearer shot 70 for low net honors.

Theresa Buggs was closet to the pin on No. 8 with a shot 23-feet 8-inches from the stick. Talmant won the honor on No. 17, landing her tee shot 22-feet 10-inches away.

Carson baseball golf

fundraiser set

A charity golf tournament to support Carson High baseball is scheduled for July 12 at 8 a.m. at Eagle Valley East.

The cost is $65 per player for the scramble event, which includes greens fees, cart, range balls, golf towel and post-tournament barbecue. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams as well as for the longest drive and closest to the hole.

Bing aces 18th

at Carson Valley

Gerald Bing Jr., of Gardnerville scored a hole in one on No. 18 at Carson Valley Golf Course on June 14 during the weekly men's club tournament.

Bing used a 6-iron on the 141-yard hole. Witnessing the shot were Joe Morrison, John Carey and Ben Artellan.
