The Dakota Organization presents the Northern Nevada premiere of "Rabbit Hole," Friday through June 28, at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
The 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Lindsey-Abaire has been performed on Broadway with Cynthia Nixon in the starring role. Actress Nicole Kidman has purchased the movie rights "Rabbit Hole."
The story focuses on a family trying to find meaning and comfort after a tragedy. Filled with memorable characters and wit, "Rabbit Hole" shows how the love of a family can help heal even the most painful wounds. This production is the first to be performed in Northern Nevada.
"I'm extremely excited to be introducing this show to Northern Nevada," said Dakota Organization founder Teri Levy, who plays the mother of the deceased child. "It's a beautiful production that surely will move the audience."
Dave Anderson plays the part of Howie, with Ann Swallow as Nat, Michelle Crain as Izzy, Teri Levy as Becca and Matt Ault as Jason. "Rabbit Hole" is directed by Doug Midkiff with assistant director Amy Sando, and produced by Christopher Willson.
Performances are 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and June 26 and 27; and 2 p.m. Saturday and June 27 and 28 at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. General admission is $15 and $10 for seniors and students.
The opening night performance Friday includes an after-show reception. Tickets for opening night are $18 general admission and $13 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased from 12:30-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center in Minden, at www.thedakotaorganiza

The production is funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Dakota Organization is a 501-C3 nonprofit theatrical organization based in Minden, and founded in 2005. Part of the organization's charter is to support organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association.
The company supports other area theater groups through volunteering efforts, and material and equipment sharing.
