Megan McGuinness, a resident of Reno graduated Magna Cum Laude from Nevada State College, Henderson. She is the daughter of Bennie and Whit McGuinness of Carson City.
McGuinness is a 1999 graduate of Carson High School and 2002 graduate of Western Nevada Community College.
John C. Carter, a Carson City resident was named to the President's Honor Roll at Iowa Western Community College for the 2009 Spring term.
Students named to the President's Honor Roll must carry at least 12 academic credit hours and attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0. Iowa Western Community College is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Northeastern University recognized local students Lianne M. Aglietti of Carson City, a health science major, and Cesar Duarte of Gardnerville, an architecture major, for distinguishing themselves academically for the 2009 Spring semester.
