LAS VEGAS - Officials say a Nevada Supreme Court justice and a store owner escaped injury when the judge's car smashed through the glass front window of a UPS store in Las Vegas.

A court spokesman and the store owner say Justice Kris Pickering reported that the accelerator on her Mercedes station wagon malfunctioned as she was parking, causing the car to lurch into the store about 9 a.m. Monday.

Store owner Dane Halovich says he was the only person in the shop at the time. He says the car stopped after hitting copy machines and an island desk area.

Pickering apologized to Halovich and told authorities she stopped the car by turning off the ignition.

Court spokesman Bill Gang says Pickering wasn't cited.
