Art, music and theater come alive at Lake Tahoe's Tallac historic site

The Valhalla Arts and Music Festival's 30th season presents a summer filled with entertainment and arts on the south west shore of Lake Tahoe.

The Tahoe Tallac Historic Site encompasses 74-acres of turn of the 20th century summer homes of San Francisco's elite. It hosts a rich lineup of classical chamber music concerts, jazz and Celtic performers, film nights, theatre productions, and the TOCCATA Chorus and Orchestra, plus a variety of ethnic and popular music such as the Wa She Shu It Deh Native American and Tibetan festivals.

The festival also presents workshops for children in art, music and theater.

The Cultural Arts Store features the work of Lake Tahoe-based artists and crafters, who also work in the cabins through the Artists in Residence program.

7:30 p.m. Friday: Grand58 concert in the Boathouse Theater. Adults $10; seniors and children $5. The band mixes great funk, fusion, jazz, and rock from the last 30 years.

7:30 p.m. today: Tistrya Grace Tea concert in the Grand Hall. Adults $10; seniors and children $5. The duo's show ranges from home-spun folk to poetic flows.
