LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Sen. Harry Reid continues to line up Republican support for his 2010 re-election bid.
The Democrat's campaign on Wednesday added 50 names to its list of Republicans for Reid, saying that put the total of prominent GOP supporters at more than 100.
Reid does not have a major Republican opponent.
The new additions include former Nevada Taxpayers Association chief Fred D. Gibson, Jason Geddes of the Nevada Board of Regents, and Michael Yackira, the president and chief executive at NV Energy.
Reid and Yackira were recently at odds over a proposal by the utility for a new coal-fired power plant near Ely. NV Energy pulled the plug on the plans earlier this year.
Also on the list is former MLB pitcher Greg Maddux.
