Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
- Jon Phillip Simas, 31, of Carson City, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East on a warrant out of Dayton Justice Court for two felony counts of uttering a forged instrument. Deputies walking through a casino recognized Simas from previous contacts, and a records check brought up the felony warrant. Bail was set for $5,000.
While arresting Simas, a 30-year-old warehouse worker from Carson City was arrested for misdemeanor obstructing an officer. The subject refused to give deputies room to arrest Simas, and ignored orders to step away. Bail was set at $407.
- Andrew Woodburn, 29, of Carson City, was arrested Friday evening at Baker and Rolando streets for felony parole and probation violation. Officers stopped vehicle that had a badly smashed windshield. Woodburn said a tree branch had gone through the window. A records check revealed Woodburn was on parole with a no weapons clause. A search of the vehicle turned up a folding knife on the driver's seat. Woodburn was held without bail.
- Nicholas Jordan Loving, 19, was arrested Saturday morning in the 3600 block of South Carson Street for felony check fraud and three misdemeanor counts of failure to appear for traffic violations. Loving reportedly tried to buy a new truck with a check drawn on a closed account. A records check brought up three traffic warrants. Bail was set at $8,402.
- A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at Monterosa and Gordonia streets on a warrant for misdemeanor contempt of court. Officers stopped a car with five occupants whose registered owner had a suspended driver's license. A records check on the passengers brought back a warrant for the subject. Bail was set at $500.
