Health Inspections

Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections as of Feb. 20. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, bakery, scored 100 points.

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, produce department, scored 100 points.

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, retail grocery, scored 100 points. Establishment is clean and well maintained.

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, deli department, scored 100 points.

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, restaurant, scored 100 points.

- Costco Wholesale Corporation, 700 Old Clear Creek Road, meat department, scored 100 points.

- Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St., No. 100, restaurant, scored 100 points.

- Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St., No. 100, restaurant bar, scored 96 points. Found glasswasher hooked to empty container of chlorine sanitizer. After setting up a new container of sanitizer and running the glasswasher multiple times, there is still no measurable sanitizer issuing from the glasswasher.

- Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St., No. 100, Smoking bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

- Patrick Henry's As If By Magic, 624 Kelly Court, Gardnerville, caterer, scored 100 points.

- Starbucks Coffee No. 9481, 2320 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points. Establishment is clean and well maintained.

- Keva Juice, 2320 S. Carson St., No. 2, restaurant, scored 96 points. Found food ("elements") in bins with all lids up. Found eggs in the walk-in stored over the ready-to-eat "grass." No certified food handler was present during the time of this inspection. (Repeat)

- Comstock Country RV Resort, 5400 S. Carson St., convenience store, scored 100 points.

- Sparky's Sports Bar & Grill, 2310 S. Carson St., No. 4, restaurant, scored 92 points. Found readily perishable hot foods (taco meat and soup) held at temperatures that support micro-organismal growth specifically at 130F. The food was discarded on the spot. Cleaning and maintenance tools are not properly stored. The mop bucket had dirty water in it. No certified food handler was present at the time of inspection.

- Sparky's Sports Bar & Grill, 2310 S. Carson St., No. 4, bar/lounge, scored 100 points.

- Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson St., meat department, Butcher Shop, scored 100 points.

- Dopplegangers Bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson St., restaurant main kitchen, scored 98 points. Observed cook wipe knife with dirty wiping cloth and then slice a customer sandwich.

- Dopplegangers Bar & Grill, 302 N. Carson St., restaurant, pizzeria, scored 100 points.

- Brugos Take & Bake Pizza, 3228 N. Carson St., No. 110, restaurant, scored 100 points.

- Arco AM PM, 2707 Highway 50 East, convenience store, scored 94 points. Found (yellow) degreaser in a spray bottle labeled as Quat sanitizer. Found bags of ice for sale to customers without proper labels. (Repeat)

- Carson Lanes, 4600 Snyder Ave., restaurant, scored 99 points. Found thick grease accumulation inside the deep fryer unit. Syrup spills are not cleaned up under the soda boxes. There is accumulated dust on the ceiling and light shields. (Repeat)

- Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive, food facility fee exempt, scored 99 points. Floor is damaged and is uncleanable in from of the soup kettle. The floor sink under the cabinet to the right of the coffee maker (at the drink station) is dirty.

- Woody's Deli & Market, 4385 S. Carson St., restaurant, scored 100 points.
