Sen. Harry Reid says Nevada will get more than $100 million in the omnibus legislation expected to be signed by President Obama today. Nevada programs due to get a boost range from erosion control in Carson City to statewide health care, education and transportation projects.

Reid, a Democrat, voted for the $410 billion spending plan; Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., voted against it.

"Delivering what our state needs to meet its growing demands is my priority," Reid said in a statement from Washington, D.C. "Creating jobs and saving homes are the major issues on everyone's mind, and we help them both in this bill."

Carson City will get $269,000 for erosion control in the area destroyed by the Waterfall Fire in 2004 and $400,000 for the city's anti-methamphetamine program. There is also $475,000 for the V&T Railway on Reid's list.

Lake Tahoe is in for several grants including $3 million for reforestation and urban storm water treatment.

He said more than $18.7 million is in the bill for Nevada road, highway and mass transportation projects. Nearly $15 million worth of energy projects, which also create good-paying jobs, is in the plan. He said the bill will also provide $5.4 million for schools and $4.6 million for health care.

It contains $571,000 for the Access to Healthcare Network which provides care to uninsured Nevadans at vastly reduced rates.

The university system will get $951,000 to support efforts to educate more nurses and other health care professionals.

More than $7 million is included for road improvements, including work on the Pyramid Lake Highway Corridor and the I-580/U.S. 395 Meadowood Interchange in Reno.

Altogether, there are more than 110 projects for Nevada on Reid's list.
