Delta Airlines will offer weekly nonstop flights between Reno and Minneapolis-St. Paul this summer.
The Saturday-only service will be offered June 6 through Sept. 6. The flight will depart Minneapolis at 9:15 a.m., arriving in Reno at 11 a.m. The return flight from Reno leaves at noon and arrives back in Minnesota at 5:20 p.m.
Krys Bart, president of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, says Minneapolis is a hub that will provide northern Nevada travelers connections to international fights.
More importantly, she says it will give Reno a chance to show it deserves a daily nonstop flight between the two cities.
The last daily nonstop flight between Reno and Minneapolis was discontinued in 2005 when Northwest Airlines filed for bankruptcy. Northwest was acquired by Delta last year.
