Liberty Dialysisgrand opening

A grand opening celebration for Liberty Dialysis is scheduled for Thursday, April 2 from 3-7 p.m. Liberty is the first business to open in the Ribeiro Carson Tahoe Business Park, 4500 South Carson St. The official ribbon cutting will take place at 5 p.m., and refreshments will be available.


Young Business pros meeting features professor

Western Nevada College professor Bob Morin, Ph.D., will be the guest speaker at the Carson City Young Business Professionals meeting from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Wells Fargo main branch, 2424 South Carson St. Morin will give a presentation on networking, "How to Work the Pond." NNDA breakfast features talk about banks and money

The Northern Nevada Development Authority's monthly membership breakfast on March 25 will delve into the current state of banking in Nevada. Bill Uffelman, president and CEO of the Nevada Bankers Association, will moderate the discussion, with panelists John Guedry, executive vice president, City National Bank; Stan Wilmoth, president, Heritage Bank; and Kevin Sullivan, executive vice president, Nevada State Bank. The event begins at 7 a.m. at Dayton Valley Country Club. Cost is $20 for pre-paid members, $35 at the door.

Remodeler's Council hosting seminar on new lead rules

Join the Builders Association of Western Nevada Remodeler's Council on at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26 for an audio seminar presented by the National Association of Home Builders that explains how the EPA's new lead rule will change the way you do business.

If you do almost any kind of construction or installation work inside homes or child-occupied facilities built before 1978, you need to know about the EPA's new rule, which will become mandatory in April 2010.

Douglas Forecast to show upside ofdown economy

This year's Douglas County Forecast, will take place on March 25 at Carson Valley Inn, will find the upside of a down economy, according to event organizer Carole Thompson of the Douglas County Building Industry Association.

The event kicks off at 5 p.m. with the cowboy poetry of Tony Argento, Harold Miller and Dave P. Fisher and a tribute to former county commissioner Kelly Kite.

At 6 p.m., the state of the county will be discussed by County Manager T. Michael Brown, new Assistant County Manager Stephen Mokrohisky, and Community Services Director Scott Morgan.

The state of the economy will be discussed at 6:30 p.m. with Kris Holt, executive director of Nevada Business Connections; Rob Hooper with the Northern Nevada Development Authority; Tina Iftiger of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada; Jeffrey Fontaine, executive director of the Nevada Association of Counties; and Joe Locurto with the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.

Other panels will address water resources, community challenges and development.

Creative financing for your business

The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a series of business success workshops. Business owners and their employees are invited to sharpen their skills with these one-hour workshops. 

The next workshop is at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26 and cover creative ways to finance your business.

New salon to open on College Parkway

Bella, an Aveda Concept Salon and Spa, announced it is opening a store at 1910 College Parkway this spring. Bella is also adding the services of Dr. Louis Bonaldi from the Center for Plastic Surgery. Learn more at www.bonaldimd.com.
