RENO (AP) " Authorities say the ex-wife of a Reno businessman is being sought for killing him last summer.

A judge in Plumas County, Calif., issued a $1 million arrest warrant for Nazira Maria Cross for the August death of Michael Cross, who owned car dealerships in Reno and Lovelock.

Authorities say Michael Cross was killed at his home in Chilcoot, Calif., on Aug. 1 and then buried at his Lovelock ranch.

Nazira Cross was found at the man's home in Reno and told police her ex-husband died and she had buried him.

She is a native of Costa Rica and a former Washoe County School District employee.

Authorities allege she killed Michael Cross after eight years of marriage for financial reasons. The couple married in 2000 and divorced in January 2008.
