FALLON, Nev. (AP) " A former umpire in Fallon's youth baseball league has been arrested on drug charges.

John Jefferson King II is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Churchill County District Court. The 47-year-old Fallon man faces three felony counts related to his alleged sale of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Millennium Park last year.

Each count is punishable by one to six years in the state prison and a fine of up to $20,000. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor that could get him another six months in the county jail.

The Lahontan Valley News reports Friday that King served several years as the umpire in chief for the Babe Ruth baseball program in Fallon. He was arrested on Tuesday and was being held in the Churchill County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.

Court records show he served time in prison for a grand larceny conviction and probation violations in 1999 and 2000. He also has three DUI convictions during a nine-year period from 1995 to 2004.
