Michael Hohl Automotive Group will consolidate their two General Motors dealerships into their existing location on South Carson Street beginning in April.
This move will close the Michael Hohl Chevrolet dealership on North Carson Street, in favor of having the entire line of GM brands at the larger facility in south Carson City.
"We've been waiting to hear from GM, and they finally gave us the green light, and we are pretty excited," said Steve Conroy, director of operations for Michael Hohl Automotive Group.
But this move is only the beginning of remaking the automotive dealership.
They plan on remodeling the consolidated GM store, as well as starting construction on new Honda and Subaru dealerships on South Carson Street.
Conroy said they hope to have the new locations operational by late fall.
This move will place all of the new car dealers in Carson City in one stretch of South Carson Street.
"It's going to be a big change for Carson City," Conroy said. "It will be good for the customer, good for us and good for the city. We are obviously really committed to Carson City."
