Closed-door bidding on department store chain Gottschalks continued into late Monday afternoon, according to a California newspaper.
The Fresno Bee said results of the company's auction might not be made public until Wednesday, when a bankruptcy court judge in Delaware will hold a hearing to approve the winning bid.
The 59-store Fresno-based chain's only Nevada location is in Carson City, anchoring the Carson Mall.
The Fresno Bee said two of three companies expected to bid on Gottschalks would liquidate the chain. A third possible bidder, a Chinese company, reportedly intended to keep at least part of the company in business.
The company filed to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January. It announced earlier this month it would put itself up for sale.
Representatives for the Carson Mall have said it might bring in another national retailer if Gottschalks leaves.
The mall and Gottschalks could not be reached for comment Monday.
