The transfer of the Warm Springs property to the State government will be made today. The constitutionality of the Penalty Bill was argued and taken under advisement by the Supreme Court yesterday. About sixty employees of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad were suspended from duty yesterday. Sunday was the most beautiful day of 1879, so far.

110 years ago

No time for waiters. The Appeal thinks that Gov. Gage of California made a serious mistake recently when he refused to receive a delegation of waiters. He said he had to time for waiters and gave them a gruff and ill mannered dismissal. Abe Lincoln would have met and received those same people, conversing with them as friends and sending them away in a pleasant mood. California cannot be expected to produce any Abe Lincoln, at least Southern California.

The first chapter in the history of Nevada newspapers was commemorated Sunday by the University of Nevada Press club when members dedicated a plaque to mark the birthplace of Nevada's first newspaper, the Territorial Enterprise in Genoa.
