Fifth Street between South Saliman Road and Butti Way will not be closed this weekend for construction as earlier announced, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
The work will be postponed until next week or later. Workers could not get the asphalt they needed.
The street was going to be closed to through traffic between 7 p.m. Friday and
5 a.m. Monday to finish the Fifth Street overpass.
The overpass will take traffic over the future U.S. 395 bypass. The Fairview Drive overpass opened in March.
Work on the $45 million leg of the U.S. 395 bypass from Highway 50 East to Fairview Drive is scheduled to be finished in July.
