The Western Nevada baseball clinched the Scenic West Athletic Conference title with a three-game sweep of Colorado Northwestern on Friday.
The Wildcats (needed to win just two games of the four-game series to take the title and had the opportunity to do it in a scheduled doubleheader, but because of weather concerns today, the two teams elected to play three games and try to get in the fourth today. WNC won 2-1, 6-1 and 6-0.
By winning the title, the Wildcats will host the SWAC tournament at John L. Harvey Field beginning Wednesday.
In the first game, the Wildcats scored both their runs in the first inning and Josh Moody took the win. He pitched 4.1 innings with five strikeouts before Kramer Champlin came in to relieve in the fifth. Champlin got the save without giving up a hit.
