MINDEN (AP) " A judge has issued a temporary protection order after a Douglas County boy was accused of targeting a female classmate on a "kill list" and hitting her in the face with a rock.

East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl took the action Friday against the Meneley Elementary School fifth grader after the girl's father said the school wasn't doing enough to protect her.

Under the order, the boy must stay away from the school and the 10-year-old girl for 15 days.

Even though the boy has been suspended, the father said the child sneaks on the playground at recess to be with friends.

The father told the judge the final straw came when he learned the boy had "a list of kids he wanted to kill" and "wanted to know where to get a gun."

The boy's parents acknowledged their son needs professional help and didn't object to the protective order.

The judge told the father to return if he thinks the school district hasn't done enough to ensure his daughter's safety.
