The wind was to blame for sporadic power outages in Lyon County today. Nearly 1,000 homes in Stagecoach were affected.
NV Energy spokesman Karl Walquist said lines at the Mark Twain substation were battered by the high winds, causing "very brief outages" that started at about 11:15 a.m.
By 4 p.m. Walquist said all power had been restored and there were no substantial repairs that had to be made.
